ING Arts Center - videowalls

From 25 October 2017 to 25 February 2018, the exhibition "Christo and Jeanne-Claude Urban Projects" can be admired at the ING Art Center. In collaboration with Samsung, Play AV installed three 4K video walls, a total of 27 screens. This gives the ING Art Center an extra dimension to the exhibition.

The video walls with the Samsung UD55E-B series show a photo report of the numerous urban projects. Thanks to the ultra-small distance of just 3.5 mm between the screens, the slimmest frame in the world of the video wall, the display creates an almost uninterrupted viewing experience to keep the audience focused on the content and not on the display itself.

"I can fully enjoy the beautiful pictures on the screens, without actually seeing the screens". (Visitor during the opening night)

It is the first retrospective exhibition of the city projects of both artists since the 1980s. Thus a unique opportunity to discover the complete creative process of this exceptional artist couple. Their urban projects were realized by temporarily adapting buildings, monuments and public places with a high symbolic value. Based on a limited collection of about 80 original works, this exhibition aims to draw attention to a certain number of city projects by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, whether or not performed: from the Wall of Oil Barrels, rue Visconti, Paris from 1962 to The Gates, Central Park, New York from 2005.

The exhibition presents a collection of symbolic works, from the first schematic sketches, in general in small format, to the final designs, complex collages that are often executed in large format. The color, the effects of the material and the volume emphasize their visionary character, so close to the reality of the projects on site.
