Kastaar is a contemporary event venue that offers thoughtful accommodations for various purposes in the KAS. The flexible furniture and interior allow different setups to be created and tailored to specific needs. The excellent acoustics and powerful sound system make Kastaar suitable for seamless presentations and so much more. Moreover, the roof terrace offers a breathtaking panorama from Ghent to Oudenaarde. Kastaar is an initiative of engineering firm Abicon and Sonar Architects, both located in Kantoor Aan het Spoor (KAS).
Hotel Serwir was founded in November 1966 by Joseph Serwir. After years of success, the hotel was transferred to Vermeersch family, founders of Stars of Flanders. After the corona period, the hotel increasingly received requests for hybrid meeting facilities. Audiovisual Consultant Mathieu Seghers identified Hotel Serwir's needs and proposed a mobile all-in-one videoconferencing solution.

At the end of January, their 260 IT experts moved to the new headquarters in Sint-Denijs-Westrem. Play AV was given the opportunity to make this new, modern workplace meet the latest requirements of hybrid working.

Ghent University's new academic year got off to a spectacular start. According to annual tradition, the opening procession walked through the center towards the Aula, where the solemn opening session took place. Drone shots of the UGent campuses were integrated into the livestream and our cameraman Patrice followed the flying reporter during the whole event.
